Betfred has announced plans to shut down its online sportsbook operations in Arizona by November 4, 2024. Starting from September 19 at 10 p.m. local time, the company has stopped accepting online deposits, wagers, and new account registrations.
Users will have until November 4 to withdraw any remaining funds in their accounts. According to Betfred, all outstanding wagers will be settled based on fair market value through an early cash-out option. Any eligible stakes or winnings will be credited back to users’ accounts for withdrawal.
In its statement, Betfred emphasized its commitment to following state regulations during the closure. “We strive to meet player and regulatory needs and expectations,” the company said, adding that they are working closely with regulators to ensure the process is secure and compliant.
This move follows Betfred’s earlier decision to exit the Maryland market. On June 21, the company and Long Shot’s OTB ended their partnership, citing a “mutual agreement for parting of ways.” Betfred’s retail sports betting operations in Maryland ceased on June 30, followed by the closure of mobile services on July 31.
