BetBlocker launches Arabic language support, expanding free gambling blocking access to more than 400 million potential users worldwide.
BetBlocker keeps widening access to gambling blocking tools as demand grows across regions where language support often lags behind need. A new rollout announced for 2025 pushes that mission further, opening doors for millions of users who previously faced language barriers.
Good to Know
BetBlocker confirmed the release of Arabic language support across its gambling blocking and management tools. The update adds one of the most widely spoken first languages worldwide, giving Arabic speaking users access to anonymous and free to use protection services.
Arabic joins a growing list of languages introduced during 2025. Earlier launches covered Czech, Catalan, Finnish, French, Italian, Japanese, Serbian, and three Zambian dialects. Each addition followed a clear pattern seen by the BetBlocker team: usage rises when people can access support in a language they understand fully.
More than five percent of the global population speak Arabic as a first language, placing it alongside English among the most commonly spoken languages worldwide. By adding Arabic, BetBlocker extends potential reach to more than 400 million people.
Internal data continues to show that users engage more consistently when guidance, setup instructions, and support content appear in a familiar language. During 2025 alone, nearly 300,000 active users accessed BetBlocker tools, a figure closely tied to expanded language availability.
Founder and Trustee Duncan Garvie addressed the wider impact of the rollout and the need to broaden geographic reach.
He said:
“With a few notable exceptions, BetBlocker language support has unintentionally focused on Indo European languages. Translating has really helped BetBlocker expand it reach, as is evidenced by almost 300k active users supported this year.
But this focus has omitted support for some of the biggest communities in the world. The launch of our Arabic support is the start of what I hope to be a diversification of the communities that can access BetBlocker support.
We are really excited about this launch and believe that this will help ensure increased numbers of people supported in 2026.
I would like to offer our thanks to Malek Zitouni, who generously volunteered his time to support the translation of BetBlocker. We could not reach so many vulnerable people without the generous folks who champion our work and contribute to our project.”
