Team Vitality closed another massive Counter Strike 2 weekend with authority, adding more silverware to a season that already sits near the top of competitive CS2 history.

The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 ended with Team Vitality lifting the trophy after a best of five Grand Final against FaZe Clan. The American lineup pushed hard early, but Team Vitality stayed calm, adjusted map by map, and closed the series 3–1 in front of more than 20,000 fans inside the Budapest Arena.
Earlier in the summer, the same roster had already taken the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. That earlier win set the tone for a year built on preparation, trust, and clean execution across every phase of play.
Throughout the Budapest run, Team Vitality showed control rather than chaos. Map vetoes looked sharp, mid round calls stayed disciplined, and late round conversions rarely slipped away.
Mathieu zywOo Herbaut once again led from the front. The French star collected Major MVP honors for a third time, reinforcing a case that already sits among the strongest in Counter Strike history.
Named Player of the Decade at the Esports Awards last year, zywOo now stands in position to earn a fourth best player of the year crown. His consistency across opening duels, clutch rounds, and late map pressure shaped the Budapest Major from start to finish.
Across the playoffs, his numbers stayed high while his decision making stayed clean. Teammates benefited from the space he created, while opponents struggled to force him off comfort positions.
The road to the Grand Final started with a 3–1 record in the opening stage, setting up a quarterfinal meeting with The MongolZ. Team Vitality closed that series 2–0 without dropping control.
A tougher test followed against Team Spirit in the semifinal. Mirage delivered one of the sharpest recoveries of the year, swinging the series firmly toward the French organization and locking in a place on the final Sunday stage.
By the time FaZe Clan arrived, Team Vitality already looked settled. Map control stayed tight, utility usage stayed patient, and the series never drifted out of reach.
The Budapest Major trophy became the ninth international title for Team Vitality in 2025. Earlier results already included an ESL Grand Slam and a 30 match winning run that reshaped expectations across the CS2 circuit.
Away from the server, recognition followed quickly. Team Vitality earned Esports Team of the Year honors at both the Esports Awards and The Game Awards. zywOo added PC Player of the Year alongside Player of the Decade recognition.
