Recently, football legends came together to commemorate Greece’s unexpected victory at the 2004 UEFA EURO. The victory occurred 20 years ago. The 2004 Greek National team, known as Legends 2004, and the UEFA ALL STARS played a friendly match during the event, which was organized by Betano, a premium brand of Kaizen Gaming. Athletes for Kaizen Gaming in Greece and Cyprus wore shirts bearing the Stoiximan and Betano brands.
The celebratory game took place at An der Hafenstrasse Stadium in Essen, Germany, the birthplace of Otto Rehhagel, the mastermind behind Greece’s 2004 triumph. The match featured legendary players such as Luís Figo, Sol Campbell, Claude Makélélé, Clarence Seedorf, Thodoris Zagorakis, and Angelos Charisteas. Stelios Giannakopoulos scored first for Legends 2004 in the 15th minute. However, second-half goals from Figo and Luis Garcia secured a 2-1 victory for the UEFA All Stars.
Kostas Galanopoulos, Sports Marketing Manager of Kaizen Gaming, emphasized the significance of Greece’s victory, saying, “There are few moments in modern football history as momentous as Greece’s EURO 2004 triumph, and it is rightly celebrated until this day. We are proud to sponsor the match through Betano and Stoiximan and have such illustrious footballing icons wearing shirts bearing the two brands. This is a huge testament to our team’s hard work and continued commitment at Kaizen Gaming.”
This anniversary match is part of Betano’s ongoing Summer of Football. The i-gaming brand has also been named the first-ever official sponsor and betting partner of both UEFA EURO 2024™ and CONMEBOL Copa America™ 2024, reflecting its growing presence in the football world.
