The owner of Barstool Sportsbook, Penn Entertainment, is now assessing whether it would be feasible to build a special facility at the Phoenix Raceway, according to the NASCAR venue. According to Gaming Today, a well-known news source covering the gaming sector, the initiative tries to ascertain if such a business would be financially viable.
Joe Solosky, managing director for sports betting for NASCAR, argues that despite these factors, Barstool Sportsbook might not be as keen to enter the Phoenix Raceway right now. According to Solosky, collaborations of this kind necessitate a place with a sizable influx of tourists and a steady stream of sports aficionados.
Only two NASCAR Circuit races are typically held at Phoenix Raceway each year, subject to scheduling modifications. Due to competition from the well-known sports facilities Chase Field and State Farm Stadium, which have a sizable fan base among sports enthusiasts, Barstool Sportsbook, owned by Penn Entertainment, may have limited potential in the raceway’s surroundings.
The Phoenix Raceway hosts several racing series, including Xfinity, ARCA, and Craftsman Truck, although NASCAR races tend to draw larger crowds. The racetrack is used for meetings and concerts when there are no races. It is still unclear, though, if those who attend these events are part of the target demographic for bettors.
NASCAR concedes that it does not have the same popularity as other significant American sports, while actively pursuing deeper collaborations with gaming businesses. Due to the smaller scale of the company, prospective partners like Barstool Sportsbook must carefully evaluate the financial feasibility of opening a facility at a racetrack.
In the middle of these discussions, Barstool Sportsbook keeps growing throughout American states with legalized sports betting. The business has strengthened its position in the nation’s developing gaming sector by acquiring a conditional license there.
