Allwyn International AG has finalized its purchase of a controlling interest in PrizePicks, locking in a major expansion move in the United States sports entertainment market. The transaction gives Allwyn a 62.3 percent stake in the daily fantasy sports operator.
The companies confirmed the deal closed at a value of $1.533 billion, subject to standard post-closing adjustments. PrizePicks carried no outstanding debt at the time of closing.
Good to Know
Allwyn leadership described the investment as part of a broader effort to diversify its global gaming and entertainment business while increasing exposure to the US market. Company executives said they plan to work closely with the PrizePicks management team as the platform continues to grow.
PrizePicks operates as a registered Futures Commission Merchant with the National Futures Association. That status allows the company to offer regulated sports event contracts across much of the country.
The expansion now covers 48 states, up from 38 just a few months ago. In November, sports event contracts were limited to 15 states through a partnership with Kalshi.
The wider rollout includes major markets such as California and Florida, two states that have resisted traditional prediction market operators. The availability in those states gives PrizePicks a larger national footprint than many competitors.
PrizePicks leadership said the partnership brings global scale and operational support that fits the company long-term plans. Executives pointed to product development and deeper player engagement as priorities going forward.
PrizePicks has also continued adjusting its product mix.
Team Picks launched in November, allowing users to make predictions based on team outcomes rather than individual player performance. The feature is live in 30 states and Washington, D.C.
Culture Picks debuted at the same time. That product lets users predict outcomes tied to entertainment and cultural events rather than sports. Culture Picks is currently available in 48 states and Washington, D.C.
