Midnite has joined the World Snooker Tour as the official UK betting and casino partner for the 2025 Halo World Championship. The tournament will take place from April 19 to May 5 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, drawing snooker fans from around the world. Kyren Wilson will return to defend his title in a field of 32 players. The championship has been held at the Crucible since 1977 and remains one of the sport’s most iconic events. The winner will take home £500,000, and the event will be broadcast to over 500 million viewers through platforms including BBC, TNT Sports, Eurosport, CCTV5, and WST Play. As part of the new partnership, Midnite plans to engage fans throughout the 17-day tournament. The company will give away Century Club tickets for the final session and introduce other activities aimed at connecting fans to the live experience. Midnite co-founder Nick Wright said: “We are dedicated to bringing fans closer to the game they love. It doesn’t get any more intimate than the fan experience at the Crucible for the World Snooker Championship, where the sport’s most unforgettable moments are created. “Our partnership will be more than just a logo in the background. We are looking forward to unveiling a series of fan-first activities throughout the tournament and making sure Midnite is in the middle of more magical memories.” Founded by Nick Wright and Daniel Qu, Midnite launched its sportsbook in 2018. The duo previously built the daily fantasy sports platform Dribble with backing from Sky Bet. The company has grown quickly in the UK, offering a tech-driven platform aimed at improving fan interaction with sports events. Peter Wright, Chief Commercial Officer of WST, welcomed the partnership: “We are thrilled to join forces with Midnite for the first time on our biggest tournament. They are an ambitious brand, committed to the user experience and to bringing fans together to enhance interaction using technology which pushes boundaries. Most importantly, they place the highest priority on having fun in a responsible way on their platforms.” He also reflected on the global reach of the event and its value to partners and said that “they are excited to join our journey as a sport because, through the World Championship, we can offer massive exposure for Midnite’s brand on a global scale.” Players also shared memories of their best moments at the Crucible. Kyren Wilson recalled the final red that sealed his win last year: “I looked up to my family and my son Finley was clenching his fist saying ‘come on!’ In the celebration afterwards I cuddled my kids and Finley shouted ‘Dad, you’ve done it, you’re World Champion!’” Mark Selby remembered his first appearance in 2005 saying that he “had never even been there to watch, so when I qualified for the first time it was an amazing feeling... to walk out for the first time and to play against a legend like John .” Neil Robertson chose his 147 break in 2022 noting that “It was something I always wanted to do, and when it happened my mum was in the crowd as well which made it something I will never forget.”
