The Association of Bulgarian Footballers (ABF) and FIFPRO representatives met during the IntegriSport 3.0 workshop in Sofia, Bulgaria. The goal of the event, which was organized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the CSCF Foundation for Sport Integrity, was to provide attendees with useful tactics for preventing match-fixing and maintaining sports integrity. The session, which brought together law enforcement officers, player unions, sport federations, and Bulgarian government officials, focused on the value of cooperation in preventing manipulation in sports. Participants held talks about technology issues, prevention, education, and the vital role that national law enforcement plays in assisting athletes. Empowering Athletes Through Technology Senior Legal Counsel for FIFPRO Loïc Alves emphasized the role that technology plays in equipping sportsmen to fight match-fixing. Alves demonstrated the Red Button app from FIFPRO, a safe and secure platform that allows players to report match-fixing methods to appropriate authorities in confidence. He underlined the app's function in keeping athletes safe and maintaining a wholesome sporting atmosphere. Alves emphasized how susceptible football players are to being used by organized crime and how crucial it is for all parties involved to adopt a cohesive stance. He underlined that football players want a safe working environment and a clean sport, and that the judiciary and law enforcement must work together to address this worldwide issue. Initiated by the CSCF Foundation for Sports Integrity and co-financed by the European Union, IntegriSport 3.0 aims to provide practical support for law enforcement and judiciaries in combating sport manipulation. The workshop in Bulgaria marked a significant milestone in the project's journey, fostering awareness and collaboration in the fight against match-fixing.
