Tipico has expanded its partnership with the German Football Association (DFB) to include the 3. Liga, deepening its ties to professional football in Germany. The new agreement kicks in on July 1, just in time for the start of the 2024/25 season, and will run through to the end of the 2027/28 campaign. Good to know Tipico will hold exclusive central advertising rights across all 3. Liga teams. The deal includes financial support for all 20 clubs in the league. Tipico already partners with the DFB Cup, Bundesliga, and 2. Bundesliga. Tipico, already linked with the DFB Cup competitions for both men and women, will now also become an official sponsor of Germany’s third-tier football league. As part of the agreement, the Tipico brand will appear on the right sleeves of all 3. Liga team jerseys, alongside the league logo. In addition, Tipico will gain stadium advertising visibility during TV broadcasts and hold digital marketing rights. The majority of the income from this deal will be distributed to the 20 participating 3. Liga clubs each season, providing a financial boost across the league. Kajetan Strini-Brown, Tipico’s Director of Marketing & Brand, commented on the new partnership: “3. Liga is pure football: packed stadiums, passionate competition, hope and suspense – it’s a perfect match for Tipico! We are therefore extremely excited to work together to further strengthen the appeal and visibility of this special league. For us, the 3. Liga is the logical extension of our commitment to German football, as we are now partner of all professional competitions. We have been working with the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga for many years and have also partnered with the DFB for a year already.” Support for Responsible Betting Dr. Holger Blask, Chairman of the Management Board of DFB GmbH & Co. KG, highlighted the broader context of the deal and emphasized Tipico’s alignment with regulatory goals: “This good news rounds off an outstanding year in the 3. Liga full of spectator records and underlines the popularity of the league. Tipico fits in as a strong and reliable partner. Together, we also want to continue our extensive efforts for responsible handling of sports betting within this framework. For many years, the DFB has shared the goals named in the State Treaty on Gambling, which only permits betting offers from state-licensed providers in accordance with legal requirements. In this context, the promotion of regulated offers and simultaneously the effective fight against the black market are of great importance to preserve the integrity of the game and protect the players.”
