WynnBet, the online gaming venture by Wynn Resorts, has broadened its reach by introducing a new sports betting app. Now live in six locations, including Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Virginia, the app is part of a grand plan that spans across 11 states, with New York being a key market.
Ian Williams, Wynn Sports Interactive president, proudly announced the new app, saying, “We are thrilled to introduce the new WynnBET app with enhanced sportsbook technology to six more markets, which continues our commitment to offer players a five-star experience in each of the states we operate in. We would like to thank state regulators for their timely review of our new platform as well as the many WynnBET team members and partners involved in this project for their diligent work in finalizing this significant task in a short amount of time.”
Next on the launch schedule for WynnBet are New York and New Jersey, followed by a planned Michigan introduction later in the year. The app comes with features such as quicker deposit and withdrawal times and access to an array of new betting markets.
Those who already have WynnBet accounts will find the transition seamless as the same login details apply to the new app.
WynnBet’s expansion comes after a successful first quarter for its parent company, Wynn Resorts. They reported a significant jump in operating revenue to $1.42 billion in Q1 2023, a turnaround from last year’s numbers. Their net income also made a dramatic shift from a $183.3 million loss in Q1 2022 to a gain of $12.3 million in Q1 2023.
However, there’s still work to do for Wynn Resorts in terms of profitability within the sports betting sector. The Wynn Interactive division, housing both sports betting and online casino platforms, experienced a dip in operating revenue by $2.4 million in Q1 2023, compared to the same period last year.
With an earnings report due on August 9, the eyes of the industry will be on Wynn Resorts as they continue to carve their path in the world of sports betting and online gaming.
