Vermont sports betting results for June show a total handle of just over $10 million, as reported by the state’s liquor and lottery department. This figure represents a decline of nearly $2 million from May’s handle.
In June, around 462,000 bets were placed, with the average wager amounting to $21.76. The number of players participating decreased by almost 50,000 compared to the previous month.
Interestingly, players from neighboring states helped boost Vermont’s handle. These out-of-state bettors contributed nearly $2.5 million, making up about 20% of all wagers placed in June. Their average bet was $33.36, over $3 higher than the average in May.
Vermont players collected over $9 million in winnings in June. Meanwhile, the state’s sports wagering operators reported nearly $0.9 million in adjusted gross revenue.
Baseball dominated as the most popular sport for bettors, with $3.4 million in wagers, accounting for nearly a third of the total handle. Basketball and tennis followed, generating almost $1.5 million and $1.3 million, respectively. Soccer added nearly $943,000, while hockey contributed close to $232,000.
