Ohio Casinos and Sportsbooks Show November Growth

Ohio’s casino and sports betting markets showed strong results in November, with the Ohio Control Commission reporting a total casino revenue of $83.4 million for the month. This figure represents a year-over-year increase of more than $4 million, compared to November 2023’s $80.4 million, and a slight rise from October 2024’s $83 million.

Slot machines were the main driver of casino revenue, contributing nearly $60.1 million, while table games added around $24.2 million. Cumulatively, Ohio’s casinos have brought in $919.7 million in revenue so far this year. Slots accounted for $669 million of this total, while table games generated $250.7 million.

Ohio’s sports betting market also delivered notable results. For the second time in its history, the state’s monthly sports betting handle surpassed $1 billion, reaching $1.03 billion in November. This reflects a 19% increase compared to the same month last year. Sports wagering revenue for November came in at $116.9 million, with the vast majority—$114.2 million—coming from online platforms. Retail sportsbooks contributed $2.7 million.

In 2024, Ohio has recorded $843.8 million in sports gaming revenue through November. Online betting has brought in $826.3 million, while retail locations added $17.5 million.

Since the Supreme Court overturned the federal sports betting ban in 2018, 38 states and the District of Columbia have established legal sports wagering markets. Missouri is the latest state to join, following the approval of a ballot measure that will allow sports betting
