The mobile sports betting statistics for July have been made public by the New York State Gaming Commission. For the month, the state reported handling a total of about $1.26 billion. This amount shows a drop of more than $200 million from the June results.
The handle for July was the lowest recorded for the summer thus far. November 2023 continues to be the highest handle month since the market’s start despite this decline. The state has accomplished remarkable things in the last year, as evidenced by its handling of $1.75 billion in September and $2 billion in October. This year’s May and June also got close to the $2 billion milestone.
On a more positive note, New York’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for July saw a slight increase. GGR rose by nearly $7 million from June, reaching $140 million for the month. This uptick indicates some resilience in the market despite the lower handle.
In July, the platform providers in New York disclosed net revenue of around $68.7 million. Comparing this figure to June’s earnings, there has been an over $3 million gain. Furthermore, the funds allotted for educational purposes in July came to almost $71.6 million. This amount is over $3 million more than the June contribution report.
Overall, the state’s gaming industry continues to bring in a sizable sum of money, even though July’s statistics show a drop in betting activity. The continuous influence of mobile sports betting in New York is demonstrated by the increases in net revenue and contributions to education.
