Today, the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) and data security firm IXUP announced a joint venture. Their main goal is to bolster the U.S. sports betting industry’s security and credibility.
These two major industry players aim to develop products and services promoting integrity in sports betting. Their intention is to inform operators, regulators, and sports bodies more effectively.
IBIA will be endorsing IXUP’s PlayPause® encryption matching system to its U.S. associates. This positions PlayPause® as the go-to program for identifying athletes and managing involuntary exclusions in professional sports. Conversely, through its well-established ties, IXUP will push IBIA’s top-tier integrity monitoring solutions to U.S. sports betting entities and sports leagues.
Khalid Ali, IBIA’s CEO, stated, “This alliance leverages the strengths of both organizations, from identifying dubious betting actions to encrypted matching of individuals violating sporting norms. We, at IXUP and IBIA, understand the essence of upholding integrity in U.S. sports betting. We are committed to finding innovative tech solutions to assist operators in this mission.”
Both organizations see potential in expanding their services to more sports betting stakeholders, like governing bodies and teams. As IXUP manages voluntary exclusion programs, their involvement aligns with IBIA’s vision to oversee betting integrity nationwide.
Operating under U.S. licensing, IBIA oversees integrity in over 70% of U.S. sports bets.
Meanwhile, IXUP handles Australia’s National Self Exclusion Register, BetStopTM. This register ensures the protection of at-risk patrons while abiding by stringent data privacy regulations. It serves all 150 online sports book operators in Australia. Alongside, IXUP is engaging with U.S. entities for its PlayPause® pilot. This initiative aims to merge voluntary and sports-related exclusion lists into an accessible API.
