Golden Matrix Group has announced the acquisition of a sports betting and iGaming license in Peru. This license, issued to Meridian Gaming Peru S.A.C., a subsidiary of Meridian Group, was granted by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru (MINCETUR).
Golden Matrix finalized its acquisition of MeridianBet in a deal worth $300 million back in April, marking a significant step in the group’s global expansion strategy. This new license in Peru, alongside a recently secured sports betting license in South Africa, underscores the company’s commitment to growing its presence worldwide.
Peru has become a crucial market for many operators in 2024, with several companies securing licenses there in recent months, including WorldMatch, Betsson, and EveryMatrix.
Meridianbet CEO Zoran Milosevic expressed his excitement, saying, “We are thrilled to enter the Peruvian market, a region poised for massive growth and unprecedented expansion in the coming years. This market entry presents an exciting opportunity to further grow our user base and deliver additional value to shareholders, underscoring our ongoing commitment to developing industry-leading brands globally.”
Golden Matrix CEO Brian Goodman added, “With the addition of Peru, Golden Matrix is well-positioned to capitalize on the rapidly growing online gaming sector in Latin America, delivering exceptional value and growth prospects for investors.”
