Mobile football game FIFA Rivals, created by FIFA and Mythical Games, has just scored its first major club partnership, teaming up with Borussia Dortmund in a multi-year deal. The collaboration makes Dortmund the very first football club to appear in FIFA Rivals, giving fans a new way to connect with the Bundesliga side both on and off the pitch.
Good to know
Through the 2025/26 season, Dortmund supporters can expect exclusive in-game events, limited edition player cards, and fan rewards. The game will feature key squad members such as Adeyemi, Guirassy, Nico Schlotterbeck, Gregor Kobel, Jobe Bellingham, Yan Couto, and Daniel Svensson.
Alongside the digital integration, the partnership extends into real life. Fans visiting BVB’s FanWelt will see special activations and experiences tied directly to FIFA Rivals.
To celebrate the announcement, FIFA Rivals has launched a Borussia Dortmund Giveaway Week running from August 18 to 24. Players logging in daily can claim free Dortmund player card packs, a new official emblem, and even limited-time collectibles with stat boosts. These giveaways are designed to connect everyday play with the excitement of supporting the club.
FIFA Rivals is the second licensed sports game from Mythical Games, following the success of NFL Rivals. Unlike traditional football titles, FIFA Rivals integrates digital ownership and player-driven economies, giving fans a chance to collect and trade official club content. Available now on both the App Store and Google Play, the game positions itself as the first mobile football title to blend sport with blockchain-style digital assets.
Jung Suh, Chief Business Officer at Mythical Games, said:
“Our partnership with Borussia Dortmund is a strategic step in expanding FIFA Rivals’ global footprint and deepening our engagement within the European football ecosystem. BVB’s global brand, forward-thinking approach, and commitment to fan experience make them an ideal partner as we continue to bridge the worlds of interactive entertainment and sport.”
Borussia Dortmund Managing Director Carsten Cramer added:
“We are excited about our partnership with FIFA Rivals. It creates a unique bridge between the digital and real worlds, enabling us to connect with our fans around the world in innovative ways. Borussia Dortmund stands for passion, community, and innovation – values that align perfectly with this project.”
