On April 4, Fanatics made headlines with the completion of its acquisition of PointsBet US for $225 million. This strategic move has accelerated Fanatics’ growth plans. As part of the acquisition, Fanatics integrated PointsBet’s technology and customer base into its sportsbook and casino platforms. “The acquisition of the US businesses of PointsBet has supercharged our expansion plans,” said Matt King, CEO of Fanatics Betting and Gaming. He highlighted the benefits of incorporating PointsBet’s technology and talent into Fanatics’ operations.
With the acquisition, Fanatics also welcomed over 200 PointsBet employees, including Mark Hughes and Aonghus Mulvihill, into its executive team. Additionally, Fanatics took over PointsBet’s office leases in Denver and Dublin, Ireland, enhancing its operational capabilities.
