Washington DC set another sports betting record in November, with a handle of $68.2 million. This marked the district’s highest monthly figure to date, surpassing October’s record by 3.6%. The District of Columbia Office of Lottery and Gaming confirmed the numbers, reflecting growing interest in sports wagering.
Compared to November last year, the handle grew by an impressive 117.6%, signaling increased engagement from bettors. The year-to-date handle has now reached $291.9 million, far exceeding the $103.1 million reported for fiscal year 2023, with one month still remaining in 2024.
FanDuel emerged as the leader for November, taking $18.8 million in wagers. DraftKings followed with $6.7 million. Both platforms have been instrumental in driving the district’s growing market share.
Gross gaming revenue (GGR) also saw a sharp increase. November’s GGR reached $8.9 million, more than doubling the $4.2 million reported in October. This figure also represents a 152% increase year-over-year, showcasing the robust performance of the district’s betting market.
FanDuel maintained its lead in revenue, generating $5.5 million in GGR for November. DraftKings posted $2.2 million, securing its position as a key player. These contributions have pushed the year-to-date GGR to $34 million.
