Circa Sports Kentucky is set to launch a new temporary retail sportsbook facility at the Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs on August 12, pending regulatory approval. This development follows the successful debut of Circa’s mobile betting app in the state earlier this year.
The temporary sportsbook will serve as a precursor to a permanent retail location, planned for summer 2025. In the meantime, it will offer bettors an engaging in-person experience complemented by Circa Sports’ renowned competitive odds and high-quality service.
Derek Stevens, CEO of Circa Sports, expressed enthusiasm about the new launch. “Launching a sportsbook in a new state is a significant milestone for any operator, and we couldn’t think of a better venue than The Mint Gaming Hall,” Stevens noted. “Kentucky’s passion for sports makes it an ideal location, and we’re excited to offer customers a unique betting experience.”
In addition to the temporary facility, the Circa Sports Kentucky app is operational through a partnership with the Cumberland Run property in Corbin, Kentucky. This app allows users to place bets remotely, as long as they are within Kentucky state lines.
Mint Gaming Hall’s General Manager, Jordan Mirkovic, highlighted the significance of the new partnership. “Today marks the beginning of an exciting journey into the world of sports, where every page tells a story of passion, victory, and determination,” Mirkovic said. “As we open the doors to our new sportsbook and our great partnership with Circa’s amazing team, we invite you to immerse yourself in the thrill of the game and the beauty of competition.”
Circa Sports continues to expand its reach beyond Kentucky. The company’s mobile app is also available in Colorado, Iowa, and Illinois. Last year, Circa Sports launched in Illinois with both a mobile app and a temporary casino at American Place in Waukegan, in collaboration with Full House Resorts. Additionally, Circa Sports has ventured into northern Nevada, teaming up with Olympia Gaming’s Legends Bay Casino in Sparks.
