In Washington, DC, Caesars Entertainment plans to improve its sports betting offerings. In July 2024, Caesars will successfully debut its mobile platform in the nation’s capital, and 53 small businesses throughout the city will receive self-service kiosks. The goal of this expansion is to give sports bettors a more easy and accessible betting experience.
Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital, expressed enthusiasm about the move, saying, “We appreciate the Office of Lottery and Gaming (OLG) for providing us the opportunity to further our connection with sports fans in our nation’s capital.” He added, “Our self-service betting kiosks are an excellent addition to our sports wagering options in DC. Whether sports fans prefer a traditional ticket-in-hand wagering experience or want to simply deposit cash for their mobile app account, our kiosks enhance the premier sports betting experience we offer through the combination of options and convenience that supports dozens of small businesses locally.”
The new Caesars kiosks will replace the existing GambetDC kiosks at OLG-licensed retail locations. These kiosks will not only facilitate sports betting but also allow users to deposit cash directly into their Caesars sportsbook mobile accounts. This transition is expected to streamline the betting process and offer a more integrated experience for users.
Eugene Vlasenko, Interim Executive Director of OLG, noted, “DC residents and visitors will soon have access to best-in-class sports wagering kiosks at retail locations across the city.” He emphasized the significance of partnering with Caesars, stating, “We are pleased to partner with Caesars, a key industry player and the leader in retail sport betting operations, which is demonstrating its commitment to the DC community.”
In addition to this expansion, Caesars has been making waves in the sports betting arena through other strategic partnerships. Since 2021, Caesars has operated an in-person sportsbook at Capital One Arena, thanks to a landmark partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE). This sportsbook was notable for being the first of its kind in a US professional sports venue.
Moreover, Caesars recently announced a new collaboration with the Detroit Lions for the upcoming 2024-2025 NFL season. This partnership aims to create custom fan experiences for Caesars Rewards members and feature Detroit Lions branding in various online casino games on Caesars’ digital platforms.
