Global gambling giant Betway has made significant strides in its tennis portfolio, securing a fresh partnership with the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Toronto. The announcement came just days after Betway obtained an online betting license in Illinois, further marking the company’s focus on expansion.
The partnership with the National Bank Open is timely, as the renowned tennis competition takes place between August 5 and 13 at the Sobeys Stadium in Toronto. The finals will unfold at Centre Court, with a capacity of 10,800 spectators.
As part of a multi-year deal, Betway’s logo will enjoy prominent visibility across Sobeys Stadium, including on the backwall throughout the tournament.
Betway’s announcement underscored the significance of the event, which marks the Toronto debut for the newly crowned Wimbledon champion and World Number 1, Carlos Alcaraz. The tennis sensation is scheduled to play his opening match on the night of August 9.
The collaboration extends beyond the current event. Canada has hosted numerous remarkable tennis events since 1881, featuring legendary champions such as Bjorn Borg, Ivan Lendl, John McEnroe, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic.
Betway Group’s CEO, Anthony Werkman, expressed his excitement about the deal, stating:
“This competition is steeped in history and is a firm-favorite for tennis fans, so we’re obviously very excited to be a partner as we continue to be known as the number one betting brand within tennis.”
Rob Swann, Tennis Canada’s CCO, also conveyed his delight about partnering with Betway, emphasizing a commitment to delivering exceptional fan experiences through the collaboration.
“We are delighted to partner with Betway and welcome them to our incredible group of corporate partners,” he said.
