Breaking ties with its current sports wagering platform, Kambi, Barstool Sportsbook, managed by Penn National Gaming, has communicated its decision to move towards a revamped user experience. Since its inception, Barstool has banked on Kambi, a global leader in sports wagering odds, as its go-to betting platform.
The company shared the news with its users, stating, “Over the last year, our team has been working hard to build a new and improved Barstool Sportsbook & Casino. Next week we will be launching the new Barstool Sportsbook & Casino, which is loaded with additional features to upgrade your betting experience.”
Users can expect faster load times, a wider variety of player props, enhanced promotions, and a higher level of integration with theScore app, as revealed in the release. Penn National expanded its reach in 2022 by acquiring the Canadian-based media company that owns theScore app.
This strategic move away from the Kambi platform seems to be a good thing for its bettors. There has been grumbling about similarities in odds with BetRivers and dissatisfaction with hold percentages on some odds. Now, punters anticipate that this shift might pave the way for better betting opportunities and more favorable lines.
Interestingly, as Barstool departs Kambi, Bally Sports announced its collaboration with Kambi last month.
Starting from the evening of July 9, corresponding with the MLB All-Star break, Barstool announced it would temporarily pause operations. The company, founded by Dave Portnoy, plans to resume online activity within 72 hours, offering an enhanced betting experience for its users.
