Winklevoss Twins Make Major Bitcoin Investment in Real Bedford FC

Share

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the entrepreneurs behind the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, have invested $4.5 million in Bitcoin into Real Bedford Football Club. The transaction, managed by Winklevoss Capital, marks another step in the club’s future developments and materializing its Premier League ambitions.

In December of 2021, Peter McCormack, a well-known figure in the cryptocurrency podcasting scene, announced taking ownership of Real Bedford. The Winklevoss twins’ investment gives them shared ownership alongside McCormack, solidifying a strong team of crypto-enthusiast leaders at the club’s helm.

Since January 2022, the Winklevoss twins have been associated with Real Bedford, initially through a sponsorship deal with Gemini. Their latest financial commitment is set to fund ambitious expansions for the club. Among the planned initiatives are the creation of a new training facility, the establishment of a football academy, and enhanced support for youth and girls’ football programs.

Additionally, Real Bedford is looking to further integrate cryptocurrency into its operations by setting up a Bitcoin treasury.
