Trump Pursues Web3: Second NFT Collection Released

Share

In the wake of a recent indictment, former U.S. President Donald Trump is pressing ahead with his Web3 plans. On Tuesday, he unveiled a follow-up series to his NFT collection known as Trump Digital Trading Cards.

Trump used his Truth Social platform to reveal the news, informing his audience that after experiencing “impressive success,” he has decided to expand the collection by introducing a new mint for collectors.

The tokens will still be minted on the Polygon blockchain, and the original mint price of $99 will be maintained. However, the second series will differ from the first in terms of artwork, rarity characteristics, and utility features. Notably, the second series will consist of 47,000 non-fungible tokens, an increase of 2,000 from the previous series, possibly alluding to his desire to be re-elected as the 47th president.

The Trump Digital Trading Card website states that no two groups of 10 tokens will have the same properties. Abandoning a sweepstakes format, collectors who obtain 47 tokens will be entitled to dine with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Moreover, collectors who purchase 100 tokens using digital currencies will be rewarded with both the dinner and a one-of-a-kind Trump-themed artwork.

Trump’s initial NFT collection, launched in December, quickly sold out. According to a recent disclosure from the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, the collection generated an income for Trump between $500,000 and $1 million.
