Solana Mobile is moving ahead with its second smartphone, and the date is now locked in. The new device, called the Solana Seeker, will begin shipping on August 4, 2025. The phone aims to take web3 integration further than ever, offering a trustless architecture, crypto-native features, and access to a dedicated dApp ecosystem.
Good to know
Solana Mobile introduced the Seeker in September 2024, following the Saga, its first web3-enabled phone. Early buzz around the Seeker has been strong, with two presale phases bringing in around 150,000 orders. Devices were offered at $450 in the Founder window and $500 in the Early Adopter sale. At an average of $450 per phone, revenue estimates suggest around $67.5 million in gross sales.
By comparison, Apple generated $199.3 billion from iPhone sales in 2024—underscoring both the scale of Solana Mobile’s ambition and the challenge it faces in carving out space in the mobile market.
A major upgrade to the Seeker lies in its architecture. Solana is introducing TEEPIN, short for Trusted Execution Environment Platform Infrastructure Network. This three-layer model—hardware, platform, and network—is designed to allow users and developers to interact in a cryptographically secure, trustless environment.
Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder and CEO of Solana Labs, called TEEPIN “the next evolution in mobile,” explaining that trust within the system is no longer assumed but “verified by cryptography.”
The platform will also be tied to a native token called SKR. According to Solana Mobile GM Emmett Hollyer, SKR “transforms the traditional mobile business model by giving stakeholders actual ownership in the platform.”
As for the phone itself, the Seeker is packed with web3-focused features. It comes with a built-in SeedVault wallet developed with Solflare, support for the updated Solana dApp Store, and a Genesis Token that unlocks rewards in the Solana ecosystem. The hardware includes a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, a 6.36-inch AMOLED display, and 5G connectivity.
Solana Mobile has hinted at future support for blockchain-based games through the new dApp Store. A dedicated gaming section suggests that optimized web3 titles could soon be on the way, although no specific games have been confirmed yet.
Looking back, Solana’s first phone, the Saga, had a slow start. Reception improved dramatically in late 2023 when memecoin activity on the device caused a spike in demand. Resale prices soared, and by December, the phone had sold out.
Now, with stronger infrastructure, a new token model, and growing pre-order numbers, Solana Mobile is hoping to build on that momentum. Whether the Seeker lives up to expectations will depend on how well it delivers for the growing crypto mobile market.
