RippleX Introduces Crossmark, a Game Changer for XRP Ledger Wallets

RippleX, the pioneering cryptocurrency payment company’s development arm, is stirring excitement in the crypto community. They have been drumming up anticipation on social media about their soon-to-be-launched browser-based wallet for the XRP Ledger, known as Crossmark. The wallet aims to make transaction signing straightforward and enhance network transitions for developers. Developers involved in the project have been giving us sneak peeks, although a definitive release date remains under wraps.

Crossmark is set to break new ground as a digital wallet that is primarily browser-based and draws upon the XRP Ledger’s capabilities. It offers complete integration with the ledger’s native features and various transaction forms. Crossmark will be available as an easily installable browser extension on widely used platforms including Chrome, Opera, and Firefox.

It caters to different user preferences with an array of onboarding options. Users can generate new wallets using a mnemonic seed, family seed, or secret numbers. Furthermore, it offers an option to import existing wallets via these methods. Crossmark showcases its versatility with its compatibility with Xumm, another popular XRP Ledger wallet. This compatibility allows users to oversee their wallet balance and authenticate transactions via the Crossmark interface using Xumm.

In terms of future-proofing, Crossmark is ahead of the game. It’s been designed to back upcoming sidechains, such as the XLS-38d sidechain amendment and XLS-30d native AMM amendment. Developers have already incorporated networks for these amendments into the wallet, signaling its readiness for future enhancements.

Crossmark also prioritizes the users’ secret keys security. It achieves this through local encryption storage on the user’s computer, leveraging the same encryption mechanism as Xumm. To further bolster security, the encryption process fuses a user-provided six-digit passcode with a unique identifier generated randomly.
