Prominent proponent of Bitcoin Michael Saylor thinks that one of the biggest changes to Wall Street since the early 1990s may be the adoption of a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). Saylor discussed the revolutionary potential effects of such a clearance on the cryptocurrency market in a recent interview with Bloomberg on December 19.
Saylor made comparisons between the early 1990s establishment of the S&P index and the possible adoption of a spot Bitcoin ETF. He claims that these incidents have a degree of significance that changes Wall Street. Saylor believes there is a comparable possibility with the approval of a transaction that would allow investors to simultaneously participate in all 500 S&P firms, which was a historic change.
Saylor highlighted that institutional and mainstream investors who had not yet been able to use a “high bandwidth compliant channel” to invest in Bitcoin would now have access to one thanks to a spot Bitcoin ETF. The clearance may open up new options for other types of investors, which would raise interest in Bitcoin.
Saylor predicted that the launch of a spot Bitcoin ETF would significantly increase market demand. He predicts a spike in demand in addition to a possible “supply shock” in April, the month of the anticipated Bitcoin halving. A noteworthy bull run for the asset class in 2024 may result from this unusual combination of a 2 to 10x rise in demand and a limited supply of a sought-after item.
Saylor affirmed that MicroStrategy, his business, will continue to pursue its Bitcoin investing plan. The business intelligence company, which is well-known for owning a sizable quantity of Bitcoin, is looking for methods to increase its owners’ share prices of the cryptocurrency. Saylor pledged to use all available resources, including debt, stock, and company cash flows, to achieve this objective.
