Kraken is stepping deeper into the institutional crypto space with the launch of Kraken Prime. Announced on June 3, the new full-service brokerage platform aims to provide large-scale digital asset firms with integrated trading, custody, and financing tools.
Good to know
Designed for asset managers, hedge funds, and corporate institutions, Kraken Prime consolidates essential services into one interface. The platform offers what Kraken calls “deep, multi-venue liquidity” and continuous support through a dedicated account management team.
Clients can execute trades directly from custody provided by Kraken Financial, a U.S.-state chartered bank. The infrastructure also supports flexible credit and lending services, allowing institutions to manage liquidity and exposure more efficiently.
David Ripley, Kraken’s co-CEO, explained the platform’s purpose clearly:
“Kraken Prime is built to meet the execution quality and service expectations of today’s institutional investors.”
He added that the service reflects years of experience navigating market volatility, with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance. Kraken has built Prime with infrastructure designed to exceed the standards commonly expected in traditional finance.
With institutional interest in crypto accelerating, Kraken is offering a suite tailored to those operating at scale. Its certified security protocols and on-demand liquidity aggregation are meant to give institutions the stability and control they require.
