GameStop Cuts Ties with FTX.US and Refund Customers.

Share

After the crypto exchange filed for bankruptcy, video game retailer GameStop (GME) plans to discontinue its connection and pilot gift card marketing collaboration with FTX.US. Customers who purchased FTX gift cards from GameStop will receive refunds.

GameStop, which was a significant player in the meme-stock mania 18 months ago, said in a tweet Friday that it will issue refunds to any consumers who were affected.

The two companies announced their collaboration in September to boost connection between the gaming and crypto communities, and stated that some GameStop locations will sell FTX gift cards. GameStop stock was up approximately 5% on Friday.
