A report by Forbes reveals that former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao is now the 24th richest person in the world, largely due to his significant BNB token holdings.
Zhao holds an impressive 64% of Binance’s BNB token supply. This translates to about 94 million coins, valued at over $56 billion at current market prices.
The report also highlights Zhao’s near 90% ownership stake in the Binance exchange.
Despite facing legal issues and stepping down from his leadership role, Binance and BNB have shown resilience. BNB has seen a substantial increase this year.
According to CoinMarketCap, BNB’s price has doubled in the last 12 months. The cryptocurrency reached a new all-time high earlier this month, surpassing $700.
Zhai was recently sentenced to 4 months in prison.
