The very first Bitcoin ATM has been installed in Nebraska, NewsBTC.com reports today. The Bitcoin ATM has been installed by the company Alpha Bitcoin, who installed the Bitcoin ATM outside of Jones Bros. Cupcakes in Aksarben Village, located conveniently for many people interested in purchasing cryptocurrency.
Besides having a Bitcoin ATM installed right outside their doors, Jones Bros Cupcakes also accepts the cryptocurrency for their goods, allowing customers to purchase cupcakes and other sweets for Bitcoins. Jones Bros Cupcakes is far from the first store in the area to accept Bitcoin payments, with 14 other stores doing so in the area.
“There’s kind of a start-up to it. The typical bitcoin user is generally an affluent male with tech experience, so Aksarben Village is right up our alley as far as what we’re looking for in terms of a potential.” Edward Wenigar from Alpha Bitcoin said.
“I think digital pay, period, whether it’s Bitcoin or something else, is the future of the industry. I rarely carry cash anymore, but I always have my phone. I shouldn’t even say it’s the future because it’s starting to happen right now. We want to be a part of that, and we feel this is kind of our way to level the footing with some of these larger corporations.” Owner of Jones Bros Cupcakes, Bill Jones said.
