The FBI is inviting victims of similar schemes to come forward and report the fraudulent activity via an internet portal. In recent years, the organization has been actively involved in a number of instances involving cryptocurrency frauds and incidents.
On May 1, the FBI’s Detroit field office worked with the National Police of Ukraine to conduct coordinated and court-authorized operations that resulted in the seizure and suspension of nine digital currency exchange services. These domains, which included websites such as 24xbtc.com, 100btc.pro, pridechange.com, trust-exchange.org, and bitcoin24.exchange, were reportedly used to facilitate cybercriminal activity.
