Circle Expands Web3 Services to Solana with Programmable Wallets and Gas Stations

Share

Circle is enhancing its Web3 Services to support businesses and developers launching on-chain applications. The company is introducing its Programmable Wallets and gas stations to the Solana network. Circle announced, “With this initial launch of Circle’s Programmable Wallets supporting the Solana ecosystem, we’re excited to empower Solana developers to build innovative applications that are secure, scalable, fast, and cost efficient.”

Phased Integration Approach

The integration with Solana will occur in two phases. The first phase includes the introduction of Programmable Wallets and Gas Station. These tools will provide APIs and SDKs to help developers create and scale applications with fungible token transfers and the ability to sponsor user transaction fees.

The second phase will focus on support for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and interactions with the Smart Contract Platform. This will open up new possibilities, such as NFT integration in gaming and brand loyalty programs.

Currently, Circle’s Programmable Wallets support Ethereum, Polygon PoS, and Avalanche. Solana is the latest blockchain to be integrated into Circle’s ecosystem.

Circle’s expansion into Solana is part of broader efforts to bolster the blockchain platform. Circle already offers native USDC and EURC integration on Solana and enabled its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) on the network in March.

Solana has also seen other significant partnerships. Recently, Squads Labs introduced Solana’s first smart wallet, Fuse, with a public TestFlight for iOS. Additionally, PayPal expanded the availability of its stablecoin PayPal USD (PYUSD) to Solana. PayPal highlighted that this integration enhances global commerce by providing users with fast, low-cost transactions.
