Bitget Partners with La Liga as Official Crypto Partner

Bitget, a leading crypto exchange, has secured a significant partnership with La Liga, Spain’s top football league, positioning itself as the league’s official crypto partner. Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, revealed the details of the “multi-million dollar” deal during an interview with CoinDesk at the Token2049 conference. This partnership aims to expand Bitget’s brand presence in key regions, including Eastern and Southeast Asia, as well as Latin America, over the next two years.

The deal also raises questions about the future of Bitget’s collaboration with Lionel Messi, whose contract ends later this year. “We still haven’t decided” on the next steps with Messi, Chen noted, but emphasized that the La Liga partnership offers “a lot more freedom and deeper collaborations,” including opportunities to engage star footballers like Kylian Mbappé at Bitget events.

Strategic Alignment with La Liga’s Digital Push

La Liga’s President, Javier Tebas, highlighted the league’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and innovation. “Over the last decade, digitalization and innovation have been among La Liga’s priorities,” Tebas stated. He emphasized that their focus on technology, under the “New Era” initiative, aligns perfectly with Bitget’s ambitions. “We want to be pioneers, and we are committed to it,” Tebas added.

This collaboration follows a week of significant developments for Bitget, including a $30 million investment in The Open Network (TON) alongside Web3 investor Foresight Ventures. This investment aims to strengthen TON’s ecosystem despite recent challenges, such as the arrest of Telegram’s founder in Paris. Chen remains optimistic about the network’s future, saying, “Even with the Telegram founder being arrested in Paris, the TON foundation is not losing the momentum. We are very bullish.”

The partnership with La Liga marks an expansion for Bitget into key global markets, enhancing its brand presence and engagement strategies. While Bitget’s association with Lionel Messi brought significant visibility, the La Liga deal opens doors to broader collaborations and event integrations with prominent football talents. This strategic move aims to solidify Bitget’s influence in the crypto and sports sectors, reaching millions of football fans across emerging markets.

Chen also noted Bitget’s continued growth, highlighting that the exchange recently surpassed 45 million users worldwide. This milestone underscores Bitget’s expanding footprint as it aligns with major sports brands to boost its market presence.

This collaboration showcases Bitget’s strategic focus on sports partnerships, leveraging La Liga’s global appeal to drive engagement and expand its user base. The partnership reflects Bitget’s commitment to connecting the worlds of cryptocurrency and football, creating new opportunities for fans, players, and the broader crypto community.
