Vermont’s sports betting market continued its upward trend in August 2025, with both local and visiting bettors contributing to another strong month of growth. The latest figures from Vermont Liquor and Lottery highlight steady activity across baseball, tennis, and football.

Baseball once again proved to be the most popular choice for Vermont bettors, generating $3.6 million in wagers, a modest 3.3% increase. Tennis produced $1.6 million in handle, while football followed with $1.3 million, showing strong preseason betting interest.
Operators reported sports wagering revenue of just over $1.6 million for the month, which represented an 87.1% jump from last year. Vermont’s share came to $507,482—nearly double what the state collected in August 2024.
Vermont Liquor and Lottery reported almost 14,680 active users in August. Those players placed nearly half a million bets, with an average ticket size of $28.64. The data reflects a consistent base of engaged players, with activity spread across major summer sports.
