With this important relationship, DraftKings will now be the official sports betting and daily fantasy sports (DFS) provider for the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The expanding partnership between sports leagues and bookmakers is highlighted by this new deal, which improves the women’s basketball fan experience.
DraftKings will get access to the WNBA’s league and team intellectual property (IP) as a result of the partnership. Opportunities for marketing, activation, and hospitality at big league games fall under this category. DraftKings intends to enhance its users’ games experience by utilizing official WNBA data streams.
Lisa Leslie, Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and DraftKings Talent Ambassador, expressed her excitement about the partnership. She said, “Having worked alongside both DraftKings and the WNBA, I am thrilled to see these innovative brands come together and further enhance excitement and visibility around women’s sports.” Leslie added, “The WNBA is rapidly expanding its reach and DraftKings has an unmatched ability to further generate additional fan engagement. I am looking forward to seeing DraftKings elevate the WNBA’s fan experience in the midst of this record-breaking season.”
DraftKings will benefit from increased media exposure through the WNBA’s digital and linear platforms. As part of the deal, DraftKings will be the presenting partner of the WNBA Postseason Push, a new content platform that will offer league highlights, social integrations, and updates on standings during the final weeks of the regular season.
Matt Kalish, DraftKings North America President, emphasized the significance of this partnership: “The WNBA has seen tremendous growth, which continues to be a bright spot in the sports world. We are proud to support the league in its efforts to continue expanding the game.” Kalish continued, “It is a priority for us to deliver the most engaging WNBA content to DraftKings’ platforms and through our collaboration with the WNBA this season, we will be able to enhance the experience for millions of our customers and WNBA fans.”
The WNBA regular season concludes on September 19, with the playoffs starting on September 22. This partnership aims to maximize fan engagement and support the league’s expansion through innovative betting and fantasy sports solutions.
