Bet365 has made its move official in Denver, locking in a $135 million purchase of a downtown office building that will now serve as its U.S. headquarters. After leasing space in the building last year, the UK-based company decided to fully commit by buying the property outright.
Good to know
The newly acquired building, One Platte, is a 249,000-square-foot mixed-use office located just north of downtown Denver. bet365 had already moved in and started renovating last fall, investing $40 million into the space before finalizing the purchase. The sale was made through Hillside New Media Holdings US Inc., which is tied to bet365.
A spokesperson from bet365 shared the company’s excitement, saying:
“We are thrilled to announce the purchase of One Platte in Denver, Colorado. This purchase builds on our announcement in August 2024 marking an exciting new chapter officially calling Denver our home.”
They also added:
“This investment into the city reflects our commitment to growth, creating local job opportunities, and our eagerness to further become part of Denver’s business community.”
Denver’s support played a role in the decision, offering more than $14 million in tax incentives over eight years to help draw the company in. The state and local authorities have pushed for tech and gaming companies to set up shop in the area, and bet365 was one of the big names to bite.
Since entering the U.S. market in September 2022 through Colorado, bet365 has steadily expanded and is now active in 13 states, including Indiana, Illinois, and Virginia. As it continues to grow, it is aiming to catch up to larger rivals like Caesars and BetMGM, with Fanatics also in the mix.
At the same time, the company emphasizes its commitment to responsible gambling. It refers to betting as “an enjoyable leisure activity” and is a founding member of the Sports Betting Alliance, alongside DraftKings, FanDuel, Fanatics, and BetMGM.
Alongside the real estate deal, bet365 also signed a new partnership this week with the Indiana Fever, marking another step in its U.S. sports marketing push.
