The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) on Monday has announced that the PointsBet has received its temporary sports betting vendor license. The Australian-based sportsbook has already active in New Jersey and Iowa as mobile sports betting options.

Now even though getting the license is the final step in the process before being able to launch officially in the Hoosier State, the company’s director of communication has said that there’s no official timeline for the launch. Patrick Eichner in an interview said that, “The PointsBet team is very excited to continue to increase our footprint. Indiana represents a state of great opportunity, and wwe look forward to providing more of the sports-loving folks in the Midwest with the premium product they deserve.”

Previously, PointsBet opened its first retail sportsbook in the US in Iowa. The company has also suggested three other cities where it will set up its foot. There are agreements in recent month to set up shop in Colorado, Illinois, and Michigan.

PointsBet will be a skin affiliated with the Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg in Indiana. The sports betting operator signed the contract with Penn National Gaming back in July which is for 20—year. The Penn National’s Penn Interactive Gaming subsidiary in return will get to acquire a 5.3% stake in PointsBet.

In December 2018, PointsBet launched its first US operation in New Jersey. In the same month, following the launch in New Jersey, it made news when it announced it refund bets placed on the New Orleans Saints for site credit after officials didn’t call a defensive pass interference penalty against the Los Angeles Rams late in the NFC Championship.

Recently, the sportsbook also announced that it would offer credit to anyone who will place a 2019 World Series or AL Pennant futures bet on the New York Yankees at any sportsbook.
