Pennsylvania sports betting activity returned to annual growth in June, with online and retail sportsbooks accepting $570.3 million in wagers. Strong betting volume did not produce the same result for operator revenue, as players collected more winning bets during a busy sports calendar.

June included the NBA Finals, NHL Finals and three USMNT World Cup matches. Those events helped Pennsylvania betting handle remain above $500 million for an 11th straight month.
However, sportsbook hold fell to 8.4%, the lowest rate recorded in Pennsylvania during 2026. It was also the first monthly win rate below 9% since September 2025.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported $48 million in gross sports betting revenue, down 28.1% from June 2025. Taxable sports betting revenue fell 40% to $31 million.
Online sportsbooks handled $548.6 million and kept 8.6%. Retail sportsbooks accepted more than $21 million but recorded a hold of only 4.4%.
Results from the New York Knicks NBA title win over the San Antonio Spurs and a successful USMNT group stage helped bettors. The average online sportsbook hold fell by more than two percentage points from the prior month.
FanDuel led the Pennsylvania online sports betting market with $186.4 million in June wagers. DraftKings followed closely with $182.5 million.

FanDuel recorded a hold just below 10%, although revenue fell by about $2 million from May. DraftKings kept 6.9% of wagers.
BetMGM and bet365 produced stronger win rates despite lower betting volume. BetMGM reached a 10% hold, while bet365 finished near 11%. Fanatics kept slightly more than 7%.
Pennsylvania collected $10.5 million in sports betting taxes during June. Fiscal year tax revenue reached $225.4 million for the period from July 2025 through June 2026, up 36% from the previous fiscal year.
Online operators accepted almost $8.1 billion during the fiscal year, compared with $8.3 billion one year earlier. Even with lower betting volume, Pennsylvania sportsbook revenue climbed by $137.6 million to $883.7 million.
A high tax rate helped turn that operator performance into greater state income. Pennsylvania applies a 36% effective sports betting tax rate, one of the highest rates among regulated US sports betting states.
Total Pennsylvania gaming revenue reached $535.3 million in June. The total came in 1.7% below June 2025 and remained below the state record of $625.5 million set in May.
Pennsylvania online casino revenue provided the main area of growth. Online slots, table games and poker generated $242.5 million, up 14.1% from the prior year.
Revenue from land based slot machines fell 1.3%. Casino table game revenue dropped 21%, showing a growing difference between Pennsylvania iGaming performance and results at physical gaming tables.
