March brought another handle drop in Pennsylvania, even with NCAA tournament betting on the board. Revenue went the other way, though, as sportsbook hold improved and iGaming kept adding growth.
Good to Know
The sports betting market of Pennsylvania stayed below the $800m line in March and has not cleared that level since December 2025. For a month packed with conference tournaments and March Madness, that stands out. Statewide handle landed at $730,853,609, extending the 2026 pattern after year-over-year drops in January and February.
Revenue told a very different story. Total sportsbook revenue reached nearly $67.7m, while taxable revenue hit $47.9m, up 77.07% from March 2025. The key driver was hold. The market converted wagers at a far better rate than it did a year earlier, helped by a tournament path with more bracket damage and fewer top seeds reaching the end.
Online betting still carried almost the whole market. Digital sportsbooks handled roughly $700.6m of the total and produced just over $45.2m in online revenue. FanDuel led again with $243.6m in handle and $18.6m in revenue. DraftKings followed with $211.8m in handle and $14.5m in revenue.
Outside sports betting, iGaming stayed strong. Revenue hit $254.7m, while total gaming revenue in the state rose 4.85% to $602.4m. Pennsylvania also collected $259.2m in gaming tax revenue for the month.
