Missouri sports betting cooled sharply in February, with betting volume, revenue, and promotional spend all falling from January. Even with the decline, the market still cleared $1 billion in wagers across its first three months.
Good to Know
Missouri bettors placed fewer wagers in February, and the drop was steep. The Missouri Gaming Commission reported a combined retail and online handle of $277 million, down from $380.4 million in January. Online books accounted for $273 million of that total.
Gross revenue came in at $31.3 million for the eight mobile and eight retail operators. That was the lowest handle since launch in December 2025 and the first monthly hold below 14%, finishing at 11.3%. Even so, operators have now taken more than $1 billion in bets in the first three months of legal sports wagering, while Missouri revenue has topped $180 million.
The tax picture moved the other way. Missouri collected $1.2 million in February, its best month yet. December and January both came in below $600,000 because taxable revenue finished negative after heavy promotional deductions. That changed in February as free-play spending dropped to $11.4 million, down from $33 million in January and $125 million in December.
FanDuel gave out $4.6 million in promo wagers, down from $14.6 million a month earlier. DraftKings cut free-play spending by $6 million to $3.6 million. Fanatics put up more than $815,000, or less than half of its January level. bet365 was the only other operator above $1 million in free plays.
DraftKings led Missouri online books in February with $104.9 million in handle and $12.6 million in gross revenue. FanDuel followed with $92.5 million in handle and $11.9 million in revenue, helped by a 12.9% hold that ran nearly a point above DraftKings.
bet365 was the only other operator above $20 million in handle, taking $20.4 million and winning 10.8%. BetMGM handled $19.2 million and held just 6.8%. Fanatics stayed under an 8.5% hold on nearly $18 million in wagers. Caesars came close to $12 million in handle, but a 6% hold kept profits modest. theScore Bet posted a 10.8% hold on more than $5 million, while Circa Sports made less than $70,000 on a $1.4 million handle.
Football betting dropped hard once the postseason schedule thinned out. Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots generated $11.7 million in wagers. In January, football handle excluding parlays reached $72 million during the NFL playoffs and College Football Playoff.
Basketball led Missouri betting for a second straight month with nearly $110 million in handle. Parlays were also a major piece of the market, drawing more than $91 million in wagers.
