The NFL has awarded Super Bowl LXIII in 2029 to Las Vegas, with Allegiant Stadium confirmed as the host venue after a vote by team owners at the league annual meeting in Phoenix. The decision sends the league biggest event back to the city five years after its first Super Bowl there.
Good to Know
The 2029 selection followed a review by the NFL Fan Engagement & Major Events Committee. League officials made clear that the first Super Bowl in Las Vegas helped drive the choice. Kansas City beat San Francisco 25-22 in overtime in that game, and the event gave the city a chance to show how well it could handle a massive sports crowd with the Strip, stadium, and related events all close together.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said:
“We’re excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Las Vegas and provide our fans another incredible experience in one of America’s greatest sports and entertainment destinations.”
NFL executive vice president Peter O’Reilly also pointed back to the earlier event, saying the league saw the 2024 game as highly successful because of the scale, energy, and hospitality delivered by the city. That helped produce unanimous support from team owners for a return.
Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, said:
“We’re proud the NFL has selected Las Vegas to host Super Bowl LXIII.”
Hill also said the first Super Bowl in the city showed how Las Vegas can combine sports, entertainment, and hospitality in one destination.
The city sports calendar is only getting busier before 2029. Allegiant Stadium will host the College Football Playoff national championship in 2027 and the Final Four in 2028. The Athletics are scheduled to begin play in a new Las Vegas ballpark in 2028, and an NBA expansion team could arrive that same year. That broader run of events keeps pushing Las Vegas deeper into the center of the U.S. sports business.
Mark Davis said: “We’re excited that the Super Bowl will be returning to Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium in 2029.” Hill added that the commitment to bring the Raiders to Las Vegas and build Allegiant Stadium has been “transformational for Las Vegas,” saying it raised the city profile and helped position it for more major international events.
In the lead-up to the game, the city is expected to host a full slate of Super Bowl week events across the metro area, including NFL Honors, Super Bowl Experience presented by Jersey Mike’s, and Super Bowl Opening Night Fueled by Gatorade, along with community programs such as NFL Source. On Location, the official hospitality partner of the NFL, has also opened a Priority Access deposit program that gives fans an early path to tickets and hospitality packages.
The award also reflects how far Las Vegas has come with the NFL. For years, legalized sports betting worked against the city in league hosting decisions. That position changed, and Las Vegas has since become home to the Raiders, hosted the NFL Draft, and now secured another Super Bowl.
