MGM Resorts and BetMGM have announced plans to demonstrate their GameSense responsible gaming program at nine National Football League (NFL) stadiums throughout the 2018 season as part of a combined effort to promote responsible gaming. The program seeks to promote constructive and proactive talks regarding responsible gambling practices, as well as to promote a safe and entertaining experience for football fans who participate in betting activities.
The Allegiant Stadium of the Las Vegas Raiders, as well as the homes of the defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, are among the NFL venues planned to host the GameSense campaign. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, and Arizona Cardinals will all be included in the campaign. BetMGM has connections with all nine clubs and is an NFL-approved gaming provider.
Following its development and license by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), MGM Resorts launched the GameSense responsible gaming initiative in 2017. The program aims to create open discussions about responsible gambling practices while also providing individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to wager wisely.
In addition to promoting the GameSense campaign, MGM Resorts and BetMGM have pledged to allocate over $1 million annually to support various responsible gaming initiatives. These initiatives encompass research, advocacy, prevention, marketing, and organizational support, demonstrating their dedication to promoting responsible gambling within the industry.
Rhea Loney, Chief Compliance Officer at BetMGM, expressed the significance of this collaborative effort, stating, “This is an extraordinary moment as we work with our team partners to raise awareness about responsible gaming. Throughout the season, GameSense will play a pivotal role in reminding football fans who bet, to do so responsibly.”

He highlighted the goal of providing guests, customers, employees, and companies with the necessary tools and information for a secure and enjoyable gaming experience.
The announcement aligns with the commencement of the new NFL season, which is set to kick off on September 7. Additionally, the initiative coincides with the American Gaming Association-backed Responsible Gaming Education Month in September, further underscoring the industry’s commitment to promoting responsible gaming practices among its patrons.
