A new nationwide responsible gaming program now gives fantasy sports users one simple way to block access across multiple platforms. Responsible gaming technology company idPair partnered with PrizePicks, Underdog, Dabble, and Splash Sports to launch the National Voluntary Self Exclusion Program covering all 50 states and Washington D.C.
Program design allows players to activate a single self exclusion request that applies across participating operators. A process that once required multiple registrations in different states now works through one system.
Good to Know
Fragmented systems often created challenges for players who wanted stronger betting controls. Many states maintain individual self exclusion lists that do not connect with other jurisdictions or operators. Players often needed to repeat the process several times to fully block access.
Technology from idPair simplifies that path. A single registration can apply protection across all partner products connected to the system. Players can activate safeguards without waiting for intervention from regulators.
“For the college student in Nebraska who downloaded a fantasy sports app during the excitement of March basketball and got carried away, or for the parent in California trying to rebuild trust at home – this expansion means they don’t have to face things alone,” Jonathan Aiwazian, CEO of idPair, said in a statement. “By expanding this operator-led program to all 50 states, we’re making sure that when someone raises their hand and asks for help, safeguards show up for them everywhere.”
Participation from several competing platforms helped deliver nationwide coverage. idPair praised PrizePicks, Underdog, Dabble, and Splash Sports for working together on a shared protection system even while competing for users.
Phil Sherwood, senior director of responsible gaming at PrizePicks, said the company views player protection as a core responsibility.
“We have always prioritized player well-being,” said Phil Sherwood, PrizePicks senior director of responsible gaming. “By taking this program national, we are ensuring that our commitment to responsible gaming is as expansive as our footprint. We are proud to be a founding member of a movement that puts the person before the product.”
Underdog also tied the rollout to earlier responsible gaming investment through GuardDog, a fund focused on safer betting tools.
“Two years ago idPair was the first company selected by GuardDog, our responsible gaming innovation fund, with the intent of utilizing their technology to create meaningful partnerships that advance safer play,” Adam Warrington, Underdog VP of responsible gaming, said. “This 50-state rollout is proof of concept of that intent and further establishes that collaboration on safety and protection is critical for our entire industry.”
idPair said the system can eventually connect to other gaming sectors including online sports betting, skill games, and casino platforms. The company also invited additional national operators to join the program.
