The Premier League Darts is set to sport a fresh appearance in 2024, with BetMGM stepping in as the new title sponsor. This exciting partnership will bring a new dimension to the event, which runs from February to May, offering a grand total of £1 million in prize money over 17 nights.
The 2024 season is not only about a new sponsor but also marks a significant agreement between the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and BetMGM, a gambling and betting platform established by MGM Resorts. BetMGM is known for its diverse offerings in sports betting, casino games, live casino experiences, MGM Millions, and exclusive MGM content.
Matt Porter, PDC Chief Executive, expressed his excitement about the collaboration: “The Premier League will reach a huge live audience and a massive global television audience across four months, and we’re delighted to welcome BetMGM as our new title sponsor. This year marks the 20th staging of the Premier League and it is already the most eagerly-awaited, with the standard of entertainment across PDC events in the past 12 months having continued to rise. As we enter the third year of the eight-player, nightly knockout format we’re excited about working alongside BetMGM to promote such a wide-reaching event.”
The tournament format includes 16 league nights, each featuring a mini-event. Here, the eight players battle it out, culminating in the season’s Play-Offs for the top four competitors from the final league table.
BetMGM is already familiar with sports partnerships, having established connections with football clubs such as Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Newcastle United, and media giant talkSPORT.
Sam Behar, UK Director of BetMGM, shared his enthusiasm for the new venture: “We are thrilled to be partnering with such an exciting and entertaining event as Premier League Darts and look forward to an action-packed 2024 for both BetMGM and the PDC.”
The BetMGM Premier League Darts will kick off on February 1 in Cardiff, making its way through cities like Berlin, Glasgow, Newcastle, and Dublin, before culminating in the Play-Offs in London.
