The world of sports betting saw a new player stepping in today as Bet365 made its grand entry into the Iowa market. A collaboration with Casino Queen Marquette has paved the way for this latest venture, marking the casino’s second sports betting platform to go live.
Last year, a strategic agreement was inked between Bet365 and Casino Queen Marquette. Under this agreement, Bet365 gained the rights to serve as the casino’s second online sports betting skin. Besides Bet365, Casino Queen Marquette also operates its proprietary sports betting app, known as Q Sportsbook.
Although Bet365 originally aimed to debut its online sportsbook in Iowa back in May, unforeseen circumstances led to a postponement. Similarly, its planned rollout in Louisiana faced delays. However, displaying resilience in the face of challenges, the sports betting operator has now successfully established its presence in five states.
Today, Bet365’s influence stretches across five U.S. states:
Despite its expansive footprint, Bet365 had to strategically retreat from one state. Earlier this year, the company withdrew its license application in Massachusetts, just before the Commonwealth officially launched sports betting. Previously, Bet365 had sought a “tethered” online sports betting license from the state’s gaming board. This application was in conjunction with the Raynham Park simulcasting facility.
