Underdog Fantasy has secured multi-year contract extensions with the full cast of its popular online basketball talk show, Gil’s Arena. Co-hosted by former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas and Executive Producer Josiah Johnson, the deal aims to propel the show to new heights, eventually positioning it as a competitor to top talk shows like ESPN’s First Take.
The partnership between Underdog Fantasy and the Gil’s Arena team is grounded in mutual growth. The show, which launched in 2023, has quickly garnered attention for its authentic and engaging content. Underdog’s VP of Content, Tim Livingston, has been instrumental in shaping the sports media landscape, having helped launch one of the first athlete-centered podcasts, No Chill, in 2018. Livingston’s vision for Gil’s Arena is to offer fans an authentic, unfiltered space to dive into basketball discussions.
Underdog’s involvement with Gil’s Arena extends beyond the show. Arenas has become a key figure in Underdog’s product offerings, sharing his betting picks with users across the platform. This collaboration is central to Underdog’s strategy to expand its media network and provide fans with deep, unvarnished sports content.
