The Los Angeles Clippers and Pechanga Resort Casino have announced a major new relationship that names the latter as the official Founding Partner of the team’s new venue, the Intuit Dome. This alliance expands on a previous relationship that benefited the neighborhood.
The Clippers and the Pechanga Tribe signed a community-focused contract in June. Among their first actions was a donation of necessary school equipment, such computers, to the Ortega High School in Lake Elsinore Career Center. The goal of this program is to assist kids with their college and career applications.
The latest agreement extends this partnership, bringing new opportunities to engage with the community. Pechanga and the Clippers will now co-host several annual events aimed at benefiting local residents. Additionally, a Clippers Open Practice is scheduled for October 8 at the Pechanga Indian Reservation in Temecula, further strengthening the connection between the team and the community.
Scott Sonnenberg, Chief Commercial Officer of the LA Clippers, commented on the partnership, “It has long been a priority for the Clippers organization to use our platform to make a meaningful difference and moving into our new home Intuit Dome has allowed us to create a space that brings even more people together. We’re very happy to have Pechanga as an Intuit Dome Founding Partner and the exclusive tribal casino of the LA Clippers as we continue programs and events that improve the lives of our neighbors.”
Ken Perez, President of Pechanga Development Corporation, expressed enthusiasm for the enhanced partnership, stating, “We are excited to partner and support the Clippers as they open their new home, Intuit Dome. This partnership expands the Pechanga brand and presence in Southern California sports and entertainment while making our communities better and stronger.”
Through the Clippers’ new home arena, they hope to promote community involvement and assist local activities. This partnership is a major milestone for both groups.
