Veikkaus is now formally a league partner of the National Hockey League (NHL) after the two organizations signed a new collaboration. The goal of this partnership is to increase Finnish fans’ access to NHL games from the United States and Canada by providing them with a wide range of NHL content.
As part of the agreement, VeikkausTV will broadcast over 700 NHL games live throughout both the regular season and playoffs. In a statement, Veikkaus highlighted, “NHL games are shown on VeikkausTV during both the regular season and playoffs.” This extensive coverage offers Finnish hockey enthusiasts a chance to experience the world’s premier hockey league from the comfort of their homes.
Tuomo Torkkola, Veikkaus Head of Communications, expressed his excitement about the partnership. “The NHL is the second most played league in Veikkaus Sportsbook after the Finnish League,” Torkkola noted. He added, “There is wide demand for our NHL content, and it’s great that we can offer it to Finns interested in the series during the 2024 through 2026 seasons.”
NHL Director of Business Development, Joseph Stravato, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the shared commitment to Finnish fans. “We are excited to continue our cooperation with Veikkaus,” Stravato said, adding that the partnership comes just in time for the Tampere Global Series games, where Finnish NHL stars will play for their home crowd.
This partnership ensures that NHL content will be more accessible to Finnish viewers, further deepening the league’s connection with its passionate fanbase in Finland.
