New York online sportsbooks generated $214.4 million in gross gaming revenue from $1.88 billion in July wagers, according to the New York State Gaming Commission. Revenue nearly doubled from June even though betting volume fell sharply.

Sportsbooks had a much better July at the betting window. June produced a record $2.25 billion handle but only $116.8 million in gross gaming revenue. One month later, wagers fell about 17%, while revenue increased roughly 84% as operator hold more than doubled.
July also remained a strong month by historical summer standards. Handle increased about 34% from $1.40 billion in July 2025 and sat almost 49% above the $1.26 billion reported in July 2024.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup gave bettors a major event during a part of the calendar usually dominated by Major League Baseball. The tournament ran deep into July, ending with Spain beating Argentina 1 0 after extra time in the final on July 19.
FanDuel collected the most revenue among New York online sportsbooks at $86.1 million from $651.2 million in wagers. DraftKings handled more money at $661.5 million and generated $72.9 million in revenue. Fanatics Sportsbook followed with $21.1 million, while BetMGM produced $15.6 million.
The stronger operator results also lifted state collections. New York applies a 51% tax to mobile sports wagering revenue, with most funds going to public education and dedicated allocations supporting youth sports and problem gambling programs. July generated about $109.3 million for education, compared with $59.6 million in June.
